Ukraine has a request for 19 air defense systems to protect nuclear power distribution substations. There is progress on this issue. Several systems have already been confirmed to be delivered.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a press conference in Brussels, UNN reports.
Regarding 19 air defense systems. We are not talking about Patriot systems here. This is for substations, which is what Russia is doing now. It is hitting the distribution substations of nuclear generation. There are more than 20, 22, or 23 of these stations, and we need 19 additional systems to protect this network, otherwise we may lose 4-5 gigawatts
He emphasized that this is an urgent issue.
There is progress in this direction, several systems have already been confirmed, and we will receive them. There is also Canadian and German assistance, and it will continue to come. Do we have all the systems? No, we don't. In addition to 19 systems, we need more Patriot systems to protect our cities. We are also working on this
