A woman who ordered the murder of her former military husband and his relatives to seize money was detained in Zaporizhzhia. The “killer” cooperated with law enforcement, so the crime was prevented.

A woman who ordered the murder of her former military husband, who was dismissed from the Armed Forces, his brother and mother, was detained in Zaporizhzhia. The woman tried to take possession of his savings in this way.  This was reported by UNN with reference to the Office of the Prosecutor General.

According to the prosecutor, the woman, after what she considered an “unsuccessful” divorce, decided to improve her property status at the expense of her ex-husband, a military man who was discharged from the Armed Forces due to a serious injury. The suspect found a person who agreed to kill him and take the money for a reward.

The woman informed the “killer” about her residence address, routes of movement in the city, and the place where he kept UAH 30 million in cash. She promised to give half of this amount as payment for the “service”. According to the plan she developed, after the murder of her husband, the perpetrator of the crime was to “eliminate” unnecessary applicants for “her money” - the husband's relatives.

However, the wife's intentions were timely exposed by law enforcement, and the “killer” cooperated with the prosecutor's office and the police from the very beginning of the meeting with her.

In December 2024, an imitation of the murder of the ex-husband and his brother was organized. The execution of the murder of their mother was postponed by agreement between the “killer” and the customer

- the prosecutor's office added.

The woman has been served a notice of suspicion of organizing and directing the preparation of a robbery aimed at seizing property on a particularly large scale, combined with causing grievous bodily harm, and the premeditated murder of two or more persons, for profit, on order (Art. 14, Part 1, Art. 27, Part 3, Art. 187, Part 4, Clause 1, Clause 6, 11, Part 2, Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). She is in custody by court order.
