According to the TV channel's interlocutor, despite the crisis, the sides continue informal contacts to return to full-fledged dialogue.
The source noted that the negotiation process effectively stalled after Trump's threats against the Iranian delegation participating in the meeting in Switzerland.
Iran accused the U.S. of "desperation"
Earlier, Iran's chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf criticized Washington's position and stated the U.S. was in "desperation."
The day before, Trump stated that the United States could "seize" the Strait of Hormuz if an agreement with Tehran is not reached.
The American president also addressed the Iranian representatives participating in the negotiations.
"If you close it, you won't have a country. You won't even return to your damn country,"
Despite the sharp escalation in rhetoric, according to CNN, attempts to resume the negotiation process are ongoing behind the scenes.
