The National Security and Defense Council's Center for Political Analysis denied fake information about the US Embassy's warning about attacks on government facilities in Kyiv. The embassy only warned of an increased risk of attacks across Ukraine on Independence Day.

The information disseminated by some Ukrainian telegram channels with reference to the US Embassy in Ukraine that Russia is preparing an attack on government facilities in Kyiv in the near future is not true. There were also no calls for American citizens to leave Ukraine.

This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, UNN reports.

Some Ukrainian telegram channels spread messages citing the US Embassy in Ukraine that Russia was preparing an attack on government facilities in Kyiv in the near future, and that the US was allegedly urging its citizens to leave Ukraine immediately. These messages were immediately spread by Russian propaganda resources

- the statement said.

The Center for Countering Disinformation emphasizes that this information is actually distorted and not fully true, as the TV channels referred to a message from the US Embassy from 2022.

In fact, on August 21, 2024, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine issued a warningthat “over the next few days and through the weekend, there is an increased risk of both nighttime and daytime Russian drone and missile attacks across Ukraine in connection with Ukraine's Independence Day on August 24

- informs the Center for Countering Disinformation.

It is noted that US citizens were advised to follow local media reports, find out the location of shelters and take shelter there in case of an air raid.

“There is no mention of any strikes on government targets or recommendations to leave Ukraine in the US Embassy's message. The danger of enemy missile and drone strikes on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities is constant, regardless of holidays and “round dates,” the Center for International Affairs emphasized.
