EU High Representative Josep Borrell said that lifting restrictions on the use of weapons against Russia would strengthen Ukraine's self-defense. He emphasized that this would help advance peace efforts and save lives.

If Ukraine's partners lift restrictions on the use of their weapons for strikes against Russia, it will only contribute to Kyiv's peace efforts. This was stated by High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell in X, reports UNN.

Borrell emphasized that the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region “dealt a serious blow to the narrative” of Vladimir Putin.

Lifting the restrictions on the use of forces and means against the Russian military involved in the aggression against Ukraine, in accordance with international law, would have several important consequences. In particular:
- strengthening Ukraine's self-defense, depriving Russia of territory to attack and bomb Ukrainian cities and infrastructure;
- saving lives and reducing destruction in Ukraine;
