US Congress postpones publication of report on Trump's controversial nominee for US Attorney General

The US Congressional Ethics Committee has voted against releasing a report on Matt Goetz, who is accused of having sexual relations with a minor. Getz, who was nominated by Trump to be Attorney General, denies the allegations.
By a vote, it was decided not to make public the charges against Matt Goetz (Republican Party of Florida), President-elect Trump's nominee for Attorney General of the Department of Justice.

The US House of Representatives Ethics Committee has voted against publishing a report on Matt Goetz, who has been accused of having sexual relations with a minor. Opinions were divided on whether it should be made public, and it was decided by voice vote not to make it public, at least at this stage. Speaker Mike Johnson (Republican of Louisiana) publicly opposed the release of the report, saying it would break precedent since Gaetz had resigned from Congress.

Last week, Goetz resigned from the House of Representatives a few hours after Trump nominated him for the position of Attorney General. There is interest in the fate of the House Ethics Committee report that investigated allegations that Goetz had sex with a 17-year-old girl. Some Republican senators are also demanding that the information be made public.
Goetz has denied any wrongdoing and has repeatedly criticized the investigation, calling it politically motivated revenge for attempts to remove former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (Republican, California) from office.
On 20 November, members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is discussing the appointment of the Attorney General, asked the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to provide the investigation files on Mr. Goetz. Although the FBI has been investigating the allegations against Mr. Goetz for about three years, no charges have been filed.
