The document is available on the website of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Ukrainian, English and French.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine expresses its support for this initiative, calls for joining it and spreading the word about the open letter with the hashtag #Sign2Stop.

It is extremely important that the athletes call for the aggressors to be removed from the Olympics, because it is the athletes who are the main ones at the Olympic Games, they are the model of Olympic principles and Olympic character. Together, we must do everything to make the voice of Ukrainian athletes heard and heeded

- emphasizes the head of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Matviy Bidnyi.

Addendum

Ukrainian athletes emphasize that Russian athletes such as Vladislav Larin, Zaurbek Sidakov, and Zaur Uguyev have already received licenses to participate in the Olympics, even though they openly support military aggression against Ukraine.

A number of other Russian athletes who openly supported the war against Ukraine are also close to obtaining Olympic licenses. Among them are taekwondo athletes Maxim Khramtsov, Polina Khan, Kristina Adebayo, Georgy Gurtsiev and Tatiana Minina, judo athletes Madina Taimazova, Inal Tasoyev, Arman Adamyan, and wrestler Abdulrashid Sadulayev.

Ukrainian athletes emphasize that athletes who promote war should not be allowed to participate in the Olympic Games.

The admission of athletes from aggressor countries who openly support the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine is a violation of the fundamental ethical principles declared by the Olympic Charter, effective from June 26, 2019, therefore we believe that any format of participation of athletes from aggressor states is unacceptable

It is noted that the letter has already been signed by Olympic champions Anastasia Kozhenkova, Oleksandr Abramenko, Oleh Verniaiev, Olena Bilosiuk, Natalia Dobrynska, Yana Shemyakina, world champions Heorhii Zantaraya, Yaroslava Maguchikh, Marta Fedina, Olha Saladukha and dozens of other top Ukrainian athletes.
