Ukraine is introducing automatic granting of combatant status, the Ministry of Veterans reported on Friday, UNN reports.
Details
"The granting of combatant status has been automated," the ministry said.
It is stated that now servicemen performing combat missions will not be involved in the process of obtaining status at all - the state will take care of all the necessary procedures.
"We are introducing automatic granting of the status, which eliminates even the need to submit an application. There are no bureaucratic obstacles, no paperwork or additional appeals to various institutions," said Natalia Kalmykova, Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
What is being changed
Previously, the process required personal participation of veterans, submission of paper documents and numerous approvals. Thanks to the new digital approaches, this procedure will become much simpler and more efficient, ensuring quick and convenient obtaining of the combatant status, the Ministry of Veterans noted. Information about participation in hostilities will be entered by authorized persons of military units.
After being granted the UBD status, the defense counsel will be able to generate an eCertificate in the Diia application and enjoy all the benefits of the status. As noted, it is important to note that the generation of an e-Certificate in the Diia application without a paper certificate will be implemented in January 2025.
