Ukraine denies Russian fake news about bringing mobile crematoria to Sumy to burn Russians from Kursk region

Russian Telegram channels are spreading disinformation about mobile crematoria being brought to Sumy to destroy the bodies of military personnel. The Center for Strategic Communications refutes this information and reminds that such crematoria are used by Russia itself.
The “news” spread by Russian Telegram channels that mobile crematoriums made in Sweden and Italy have been brought to Sumy, with the help of which the Ukrainian authorities plan to destroy thousands of bodies of the dead soldiers in the Kursk region, is disinformation and fake news. This is reported by the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security, UNN reports.

It is noted that given the fact that such fakes are accompanied by photos against the backdrop of winter weather, the very topic of “the use of crematoria in the Armed Forces of Ukraine” is actively supported throughout the full-scale invasion.
The Center for Strategic Communications reminds that, for example, in September 2023, propaganda “brought” such crematoria in the amount of 200 units. But from Germany.
Given this propaganda pace, there will soon be no mobile crematoria left in Europe at all. At the same time, it is Russia that is actively using them, and there is evidence of this. For example, as of April 2022, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, 13 mobile crematoria were operating in the temporarily occupied Mariupol to clear the streets of the bodies of dead civilians
The use of such crematoria was also recorded in the Chernihiv region and in the city of Novoaydar, Luhansk region.
