Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Natalia Kalmykova discussed with U.S. Lieutenant General Mary Krueger Izaguirre and Brigadier General Andrew Landers the strengthening of cooperation between Ukraine and the United States in the military sphere, including joint exercises, research, training of military medics and improvement of medical support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In particular, according to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, it is about conducting joint exercises and research.
They agreed to develop Euro-Atlantic cooperation in the field of military medicine and military training. During the extremely productive meeting, the issues of joint exercises and research, as well as the exchange of experience with American doctors in the most relevant areas of military medicine were raised
It is noted that the parties paid attention to the training of trainers for tactical medicine instructors in order to launch the CLS (Combat Lifesaver Course) training program in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The possibility of opening ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) courses for battalion-level military doctors and medical companies was also discussed.
In addition, the meeting discussed the continuation of ASSET courses for military surgical teams and the development of a joint action plan to combat hospital-acquired infections and antibiotic resistance.
There are many important and large-scale projects ahead. These agreements will help strengthen cooperation between Ukraine and the United States in the field of military medicine, improve the skills of Ukrainian military doctors, and improve medical support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
