SNRIU Chairman Oleh Korikov met with Daniel Blumenthal of the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration. The event, organized with the assistance of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, focused on discussing cooperation in nuclear safety and support for response to nuclear and radiation accidents.

Oleh Korikov thanked for the support, emphasizing its importance in the context of the ongoing military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. They discussed the exchange of data on the radiation situation, operational assessment of the situation, refutation of fake news, and optimization of the use of radiation monitoring equipment.

Daniel Blumenthal presented plans to expand nuclear emergency response capabilities through the use of the RadResponder Network, a U.S. tool for radiological data management.

The meeting resulted in an agreement to continue cooperation, including equipment maintenance, training and exercises.
