In Łódź strong winds brought down a tree on a bike path. A branch fell on a 60-year-old woman, who died on the spot.
Another fatal accident occurred on Lake Nigotsin in the Gigitsky district. A sailing boat overturned due to the storm. In total, 18 boats overturned on the country's lakes as a result of the severe storm on Sunday.
Three scout camps in the Warmia and Mazury Voivodeship were evacuated due to bad weather.
On Sunday, the wind strength sometimes exceeded 10 degrees on the Beaufort scale, and the wave height was 1.5 meters.
Strong winds also knocked down power lines. As of 9:00 a.m. on Monday, about 30,000 consumers were without electricity.
Due to the lack of electricity, railroad lines are also damaged, and trains are delayed.
Strong winds are expected again today in the Warmia and Mazury Voivodeship. Rescuers urge not to leave the harbors on Monday.
