The accident occurred near the Białośliwie station, where a PKP Intercity train on the Białogard – Warsaw route collided with a Polregio regional train traveling on the Piła – Bydgoszcz route. According to rescuers, there were about 200 passengers on the trains.
Several carriages derailed
As a result of the collision, three carriages of the PKP Intercity train and a section of the Polregio train derailed. Railway infrastructure, including switch points, was also damaged. More than ten fire and rescue units, medics, and railway technical services are working at the scene.

According to PKP Intercity spokesman Michał Wrzosek, "three people received emergency medical assistance on the spot. Five people were taken to the nearest hospital for examination."
Train traffic temporarily suspended
Passengers from both trains were evacuated by buses. Traffic on the Piła – Bydgoszcz railway line has been temporarily stopped, and its resumption is expected no earlier than Friday.
The causes of the accident will be determined by a special commission. There is no information about fatalities at this time.
