In a post on the social network Truth Social, Trump stated that residents of Scotland's Aberdeen are "dancing in the streets" over Burnham's intentions to boost energy extraction.

Burnham does not plan to issue new licenses
As The Telegraph notes, Andy Burnham is expected to keep the Labour Party's election promise not to issue new licenses for extraction in the North Sea. At the same time, he intends to accelerate the development of fields that have already received approval for development, including Rosebank and Jackdaw.
The publication notes that this approach is less ambitious than what Donald Trump proposes, who has repeatedly called on London to significantly expand drilling in the North Sea.
According to The Telegraph, the UK Treasury had previously prepared a proposal to increase oil and gas production, as additional tax revenues could help finance rising defense spending. At the same time, according to the publication, the implementation of this initiative was blocked by then-Energy Secretary Ed Miliband.
