A high-speed train crashed into a commuter train at a station near Jakarta. The accident killed four people and left 38 others hospitalized.

A collision between two trains occurred near the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, resulting in at least four deaths and dozens of injuries. This was reported by AP, according to UNN.

The accident occurred at the Bekasi Timur station. According to the state railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia, the Argo Bromo Anggrek express train crashed into the rear of a commuter train that was stationary at the platform.
As a result of the impact, one of the carriages containing passengers was seriously damaged. This was a carriage designated for women. Rescuers worked to extricate people; at least five remained trapped inside.
Casualties and Investigation
According to official information, at least 38 people were taken to hospitals. Meanwhile, all 240 passengers of the Argo Bromo Anggrek train were uninjured.
The causes of the accident are currently being investigated by the police. Jakarta Police Chief Asep Edi Suheri stated that an investigation into the circumstances of the collision is underway.
The state railway company apologized to passengers for the incident.
Railway accidents occur regularly in Indonesia due to aging infrastructure. Notably, in 2024, a similar collision in West Java also resulted in fatalities.
