Today, on December 18, since 2000, at the initiative of the of the United Nations, various events have been taking place on the occasion of International Migrants' Day, UNN reports.
World statistics
According to rough estimates, there are currently more than 300 million migrants in the world today.
About 75 million migrants are in the countries of Europe.
10% of migrants are children under the age of 15, 48% are women.
Ukrainian labor migrants and refugees
Before the full-scale Russian invasion, about 3 million Ukrainians were working in other countries.
According to various estimates, up to 7 million refugees have fled from Ukraine, fleeing the war.
Almost 3 million of them do not plan to return to Ukraine, even if the war ends.
