The US will enter into investment agreements with the Gulf countries instead of a 20% tariff - Trump
Kyiv • UNN
US President Donald Trump announced the opening of the Strait of Hormuz to all countries except Iran, and the blockade of Iranian ports. He also announced the replacement of the 20% tariff with investment agreements with the Gulf countries.

U.S. President Donald Trump said that the Strait of Hormuz is open to ships from all countries except Iran, and that he has concluded "massive" investment deals with the Gulf countries, reports UNN citing The Guardian.
The Strait of Hormuz is open to all vessels except Iran, and that is because of their deceitful, violent, and malicious leadership, which is leading them down the path of total destruction. Therefore, we will have a complete blockade, but only for vessels entering and leaving Iranian ports, or carrying anything related to Iranian cargo
Trump also said that trade and investment deals with the Gulf countries will replace the 20% fee for passage through the strait, which he proposed a day earlier.
Based on very productive conversations with the leadership of the Middle East, I have decided to replace the 20% fee for reimbursement of U.S. costs with trade and investment deals that various Gulf countries will conclude with the United States
He added that "America is winning again, winning like never before... and, most importantly, Iran will never have nuclear weapons!"
