About twenty people will be subject to the new restrictions, including government officials, parliamentarians, law enforcement officers, and representatives of the private sector.

The measures apply to individuals who support actions that impede Georgia's democratic development, including repression of the opposition, journalists, and human rights defenders. The United States emphasizes that such actions contradict the aspirations of Georgian society for European integration, which is an important direction of the country's development.

The decision to impose visa restrictions is part of a broader policy by Washington that has already targeted more than a hundred individuals associated with destructive activities in Georgia. The announced measures are also accompanied by the preparation of new sanctions that will affect those who contribute to political instability and impede democratic reforms.

The United States remains committed to supporting stability, prosperity, and democracy in Georgia.
