Over 11 months of this year, 32 million 300 thousand people crossed the border. In fact, this figure is at the level of the same period last year. But now, in recent days, we have already seen a gradual increase in passenger traffic in the run-up to the New Year and Christmas holidays. It started around Saturday
Thus, according to him, 100 thousand people crossed the border on Saturday and Sunday, and it did not decrease much on weekdays.
“On Monday and Tuesday, passenger traffic was at 88 thousand people per day in both directions. Almost 97 thousand people crossed the border yesterday. Before that, on weekdays, about 80-85 thousand people crossed the border. The increase in passenger traffic has begun. In some areas, at certain hours, we record traffic congestion, as more people arrive at the border at the same time to cross it, so we advise citizens to take an interest in the state of congestion at checkpoints to leave Ukraine,” said Demchenko.
