The number of speed cameras will increase in Ukraine

Ukraine plans to increase the number of TruCAM cameras to 160 and expand speed measurement to 295 sites, taking into account the level of accidents and danger on the roads, while temporarily suspending speed monitoring in active conflict zones.
The number of TruCAM speed cameras in Ukraine is increasing, with speed measurements to be carried out at 17 new sites. This will bring the total number of such devices on Ukrainian roads to 160, and speed measurements will be carried out at 295 sites.
This was reported by the Patrol Police, UNN reports.
The number of TruCAM speed cameras and the areas where they will be installed in Ukraine is to be increased. The new 17 sites have been identified based on the number of accidents and road hazards. At these sites, as well as at 295 existing sites, 160 TruCAM devices will be used to monitor compliance with the speed limit.
The police report that in the regions where active hostilities are ongoing, in particular in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, speed monitoring devices are temporarily not used, while in Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Kherson regions they are used on certain sections of highways.
Based on the analysis of accidents and martial law conditions, a number of changes were made to the list of 333 speed measurement sites:
- Added 17 new measurement sites;
- Parameters of 3 sites have been changed;
- One site is excluded from the list;
- Speed monitoring has been temporarily suspended at 54 sites.
