The Dutch Ministry of Defense is buying 51 mobile drone detection systems for Ukraine. The contract was signed with Robin Radar Systems in The Hague. This is stated in the message of the Dutch department, UNN reports .

It is noted that the systems are capable of detecting small drones and distinguishing them, for example, from birds. A unique feature of the radars is that they operate on a mobile platform. Later this year, the Dutch Ministry of Defense will transfer these systems to Ukraine.

Radars monitor the environment for the presence of drones, even at high speed.

Since the detection system is mobile, it is more difficult for the enemy to find the radar and therefore more difficult to neutralize it. This makes it possible to continuously detect and then destroy enemy drones,

- the statement said.

The Dutch Defense Ministry has previously purchased radars from Robin Radar. They were static and are now deployed in various locations. Feedback from users included a request for the ability to continue detection while on the move. Further development of the radar system led to this new feature.

The Dutch Ministry of Defense is expected to transfer 51 radars to Ukraine in the last quarter of 2024. They will be delivered in stages.

The Netherlands, together with Denmark, will hand over 14 more Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine by the end of the summerJuly 25 2024, 09:34 AM • 44268 views
