Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó opposes providing military aid to Ukraine, arguing that it prolongs the war.

Peter Sijjarto said that the country would never send weapons to Ukraine, saying that "the more weapons are delivered, the longer the war will last."
Szijjarto added that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in October to to see if there is room for peace in the current conflict.
Despite being a member of the EU, Hungary supports Hungary is a member of the EU, it maintains friendly relations with Russia, protesting European sanctions against Moscow and efforts to limit Russian oil and gas imports. Hungary defends its energy cooperation with Russia, saying that it needs to maintain energy supplies and fight inflation.
