Russia is trying to link Ukraine to the Islamic State terrorist group and accuse it, despite the lack of evidence, of the deadly shooting at the Crocus City Mall in Russia.

The Russian leadership is trying to somehow link Ukraine to Islamic State terrorists in order to blame it for the deadly shooting in the Russian Crocus City Hall, the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council reported on Tuesday, UNN reported

After the terrorist attack in Crocus, Russia is trying to link Ukraine to the Islamic State terrorist organization in order to shift responsibility for this crime onto Ukraine. In particular, FSB chief Bortnikov said that Ukraine allegedly trained Islamist militants in the Middle East

- , the CPA said in a statement.

As noted, Russia has been trying to link Ukraine to ISIS since 2014, but the Islamic State added Ukraine to its list of enemies in 2015.

"It doesn't look like the Crocus attack could have been carried out by the perpetrators Russia has shown us. More professional people were working there. The Tajiks are a cover for the actions of the Russian special services. I would like to remind you that many Russians are fighting in the ranks of ISIS, several thousand people, so the connection between the Russian special services and ISIS is quite clear," said Lieutenant Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Political Analysis.

He added that Russia is now trying to construct a "Ukrainian trace" in the Crocus attack, which it organized at any cost.
