Starting next month, the EU will allocate 1.5 billion euros each month for a year from frozen Russian assets.
The European Union will provide Ukraine with an additional 4.2 billion euros in December to support the Ukrainian budget. This was stated by the president of the European Council Antonio Costa during a joint press conference with President Vladimir Zelensky, reports UNN.
"Already this month, the European Union will provide Ukraine with an additional 4.2 billion euros to support the Ukrainian budget. In addition, starting next month, we will provide 1.5 billion euros of assistance every month for a whole year. We receive these funds from the use of frozen Russian assets, and they can also be used for military purposes," Costa said.
He also stressed that Europe will continue to put pressure on the Russian economy to weaken the aggressor country's ability to wage war. According to the president of the European Council, the EU is preparing the 15th package of sanctions.
