The match lasted nearly three hours and ended with a win for Ukraine's top-ranked player in three sets – 6:7(5), 7:6(4), 6:4. After losing the tiebreak in the first set, Svitolina managed to turn the tide, won the second set also in a tiebreak, and in the third sealed the victory.
In the round of 32, the Ukrainian tennis player will face the winner of the match between Romania's Elena-Gabriela Ruse and Russia's Anastasia Potapova.
