House Speaker Mike Johnson hopes that the US Congress will continue to support Ukraine, expressing his optimism during a visit to Sarasota, Florida, where he met with American businessmen of Ukrainian descent.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson expressed hope that the support of Ukraine by the United States and Congress will continue. The American politician said this during a working visit to Sarasota, Florida, UNN reports.
I express hope that support for Ukraine will continue in the future. I think all this (voting in Congress to support Ukraine - Ed.) will happen in the coming days. I am confident and optimistic that we will be able to overcome this barrier
The meeting with Speaker Johnson was also attended by American businessmen of Ukrainian descent, Fedir Zakusylo, president of Vorex LLC, and Oleksandr Hrytsai, managing director of Vorex LLC, at the invitation of Vern Buchanan, vice chairman of the House Budget Committee.
"Ukraine remains in the center of global attention. Today, it is important that the business climate in Ukraine ensures economic development and further reconstruction of the country. We see great prospects for the future of Ukraine and we are pleased that the same sentiments prevail in the US establishment," said Mr. Zakusylo following the meeting.
As a reminder, the US Congress will soon consider support packages for Ukraine and Israel.
