The SAPO found unjustified the acquisition of assets worth over UAH 8.6 million by the mother of the head of the Kyiv Customs sector of the SFS and filed a lawsuit to recover them for the state.

An analysis of the income and expenses of the mother of the head of the Kyiv customs office revealed that these objects were not acquired from legal sources. In view of this, the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court, UNN reports .

The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, based on the materials of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court to recognize as unjustified assets registered to a relative of an employee of the Fastiv customs clearance sector of the Pivdennyi customs post of the Kyiv Customs

- the statement reads.

The SAPO analyzed and found assets worth more than UAH 8.6 million to be unjustified, and the lawsuit seeks to recover them for the state (civil forfeiture).

Details

According to the SAPO, the mother of the head of the Kyiv Customs sector purchased a house and six land plots in April 2023. It is about one estate in the suburbs of Kyiv. The woman issued a power of attorney to her son and his wife to represent her in all matters related to these properties.

However, an analysis of the income and expenditures of the official's mother revealed that it was impossible to acquire these real estate objects from legal sources.

This is what the SAP indicates about the customs clearance officer:

The official has been working in the civil service for more than 25 years; he and his wife, who worked in the customs authorities until April 2023, did not have the legal income and assets to purchase the above property.

The SAPO found that after the acquisition of these assets, they were used by the official and his wife, not his mother. According to the SAPO, this, along with other data, indicates that the woman acquired the assets on behalf of the official.

In view of this, the SAPO prosecutor filed a lawsuit to recognize  these assets as unjustified and to recover them from the official and his mother to the state.

The seizure of immovable propertyis reported by the court, at the request of the prosecutor, as a means of securing a claim.
