On the night of April 21, Russian troops attacked Sumy State University. As a result of the Russian UAV attack, the university's athletics arena was damaged, UNN reports with reference to the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.

Windows were blown out and structures were partially destroyed in this building. Before the full-scale Russian invasion, the arena regularly hosted indoor Ukrainian championship competitions.
As long as Russian troops, with the support of the Belarusian government, continue to commit acts of genocide against the Ukrainian people, Russian and Belarusian athletes should be banned from participating in any international competitions in any capacity.
