More than 50 people, including a child, were injured as a result of Russian missile shelling of Kyiv

On the night of December 13, Russian troops launched a missile attack on civilian infrastructure facilities in Kyiv, among the more than 50 victims is a 5-year-old child, criminal proceedings have been opened, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office said on Wednesday, UNN reports.

According to the investigation, on December 13, 2023, the armed forces of the Russian Federation... fired a missile at civilian infrastructure in Kyiv, allegedly from ballistic weapons, the prosecutor's office said.

The fall of rocket fragments in 4 districts of the capital was recorded.

According to preliminary data provided by the prosecutor's office, "more than 50 local residents were injured, including a 5-year-old child". Most of the victims sustained injuries in the form of cut wounds. All are being provided with medical care. 

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, on December 13, three teenagers aged 13, 16, and 17 were injured in a rocket attack on Kyiv.

In Dniprovskyi district, according to the prosecutor's office, a kindergarten, a sports complex, and two multi-story residential buildings were damaged by the blast wave and rocket fragments. Several apartments caught fire, windows were smashed, and cars were damaged. In Darnytsia district, private houses and a parking lot caught fire. A water supply system was damaged in one of the districts.

A pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war (part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) was launched.
