Putin's aide Patrushev announced the transfer of naval nuclear forces to a state of full combat readiness. He called the alliance of Northern European countries and Ukraine, as well as the AUKUS bloc, "threats" for Russia.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin ordered the transfer of naval nuclear forces to full combat readiness. This was stated by his aide Nikolai Patrushev, reports UNN citing Russian "media."

He added that "the creation of a naval alliance of Northern European countries and Ukraine must be taken into account in the list of military threats to Russia."
Among other "threats" to the Russian Federation, he named the activities of the AUKUS bloc — the United States, Great Britain, and Australia — regarding the buildup of Australian naval capabilities to control shipping in the Pacific and Indian Oceans.
All threats emanating from potential adversaries are taken into account in the development plans of the Navy, in particular in the Strategy for the Development of the Navy until 2050
