A fire broke out at a power substation in the Kursk region of Russia. As a result, there were power outages in the region. This was stated by the local acting governor, Andrey Smirnov, UNN reports.

According to a Russian official, the fire was caused by the wreckage of an allegedly Ukrainian drone. 

He also warned that a number of cities have experienced power outages, including Kurchatov, where the Kursk NPP is located.

There is no power supply in Kurchativ, as well as in parts of Kurchativsky, Oktyabrsky, Velykosoldatsky, Oboyansky, and Bilovsky districts. Emergency repairs are underway. Consumers are to be reconnected using backup schemes

- said the acting governor of the Kursk region.
