Police expose two men for poaching in Rivne region

In Rivne district, police detained two local residents during an illegal hunt. The police seized roe deer meat, weapons, ammunition, knives, and a thermal imager from the offenders.
In the Rivne region, near the village of Vesniane, while patrolling a forest area, police officers together with the gamekeeper service found two men with weapons. They were carrying a backpack with roe deer meat, ammunition, knives and a thermal imager. This was reported by UNN with reference to the police of Rivne region.

According to the police, the men's backpack contained about 10 kg of meat from the roe deer they had killed, a hunted bird, as well as 10 rounds of ammunition, 2 knives and a thermal imager. In addition, the police found a hide with fur covering the game nearby.
The residents of Rivne, aged 48 and 52, explained that the day before they had come to their parents, who are residents of the community, and went hunting in the forest around 9 p.m.
Investigators opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 248 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal hunting). The police also seized the weapons: a carbine and an unregistered smoothbore shotgun.
The issue of serving a notice of suspicion to the offenders is being resolved.
