More than half of Russians have given up summer trips for renovations. This is evidenced by the results of a public opinion poll published by Russian media, reports UNN.

According to sociologists, instead of traveling, 60% of respondents planned cosmetic repairs in their apartments for the summer.

It is also noted that more than 68% of respondents indicated that independent home improvement work helps them cope with stress.
"The main causes of conflicts in couples remain the budget (73%), style disagreements (26%), and deadlines (43%). Women admit that renovations bring them closer and do not cause stress if their significant others do not skimp on the budget and agree with their choice of design (76%)," Russian sociologists note.

In Russia, in the first half of 2026, about 2.7 thousand travel companies ceased operations, which is 52% more than last year. Demand for package tours decreased by 22-31%, and domestic tourism did not compensate for the losses.
