Over the last day, 166 combat engagements took place, more than a third of them in the Pokrovsk sector. The enemy has intensified its activity in the Prydniprovsky sector, and the operation in the Kursk sector is ongoing.
There were 166 combat engagements on the frontline yesterday, more than a third of them in the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy tried to advance 24 times in the Toretsk sector, became more active in the Prydniprovsky sector, the operation in the Kursk sector continues, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a morning report on August 21, UNN reports.

According to the updated information, yesterday the enemy launched eight missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas using 13 missiles, as well as 83 air strikes, including 104 drones. In addition, it carried out 4,390 attacks, including 152 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 1,558 kamikaze drones to attack.
"Over the past day, the missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces struck 15 times at the areas of concentration of enemy personnel and weapons, three air defense systems, three artillery systems, one radar and one other important object of the Russian occupiers," the General Staff said.

In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy conducted offensive and assault operations in the vicinity of Lypky and Vovchansk eleven times.
In the Kupyansk sector, the number of combat engagements amounted to 15 over the last day. Defense forces repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Petropavlivka, Berestove, Stelmakhivka, Synkivka and Stepova Novoselivka.
In the Lyman sector, our troops repelled 18 enemy attacks in the areas of Makiivka, Novosadove, Hrekivka and Dibrova.
In the Siverskiy sector, the Defense Forces repelled five attacks near Vyymka and Pereyizne.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled eight attempts by militants to advance near Chasovyi Yar, Klishchiyivka and Ivanivske. The situation is under control.
With the support of bomber and attack aircraft, the enemy tried to advance twenty-four times in the Toretsk direction. He acted in the areas of the settlements of New York, Nelipivka, Toretsk and Zalizne.
On the Pokrovske direction, our defenders repelled 66 enemy attacks. The enemy is trying to advance in the direction of Vozdvyzhenka, Mykhailivka, Kalynivka, Novohrodivka, Hrodivka, Mykolaivka, Ptychy, Skuchne and Zelene Pole.
In the Kurakhove sector, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Krasnohorivka and Karlivka, where the occupants tried to break through Ukrainian defenses ten times.
On the Vremivsky direction, the enemy made two attempts to seize our positions near Vodiane, Donetsk region.
In the Orikhiv sector, enemy units tried twice to advance unsuccessfully in the direction of Novodanylivka and near Mala Tokmachka.
The invaders became more active in the Prydniprovsky direction, where our defenders had to repel five attacks on Ukrainian positions.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, the operational situation remained unchanged. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.
On the border with Chernihiv region, the enemy maintains a military presence and conducts reconnaissance activities.
