On the sidelines of URC 2026, a declaration on the creation of the Ukraine Transport Support Fund was signed. Lithuania, Sweden, Norway, and Estonia announced initial contributions totaling over 3 million euros.

The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, the Ministry of Climate of Estonia, and the Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure of Sweden signed a joint declaration on practical support and initial contributions to the Ukraine Transport Support Fund. This was reported by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, writes UNN.

"We finalized the agreements on establishing the Ukraine Transport Support Fund. One of its key tasks is the restoration of infrastructure and accelerating Ukraine's integration into the EU transport network… The partners announced initial contributions: Lithuania, Sweden, and Norway – about 1 million euros each, Estonia – 100 thousand euros. The funds will be directed towards implementing pilot projects identified by Ukraine," Svyrydenko reported.

According to her, the Fund will finance the repair and maintenance of transport infrastructure, the procurement of specialized machinery and equipment, the development of road, rail, port, airport, and border infrastructure, as well as strengthening export routes.

"Ukraine will determine priorities and coordinate the implementation of projects, while the administration of the Fund will be carried out by the Lithuanian Central Project Management Agency (CPVA), which will be responsible for conducting procurements, implementing projects, and ensuring transparent use of funds," the Prime Minister said.
