Kyiv • UNN
Russian troops are using the fog to approach Ukrainian positions in small groups near Lyman. The enemy became more active near Terny, Yampolivka and Dibrova, conducting up to 30 attacks per day.
The Russian military is using the unfavorable weather in Donetsk region to approach Ukrainian positions with small infantry groups, in particular in the direction of the Lyman. This was stated by the head of the communications department of the 115th separate mechanized brigade, Yevhen Artemeychuk, on Suspilne TV, UNN reported.
Details
According to Artelemeichuk, the enemy intensified its activities near three settlements east of Lyman.
He said that the Russians are not giving up their attempts to storm Ukrainian positions. The enemy has become more active in Terny, Yampolivka and Dibrova. The occupants are taking advantage of unfavorable weather conditions to carry out their movements.
"We detect them, strike them with FPV drones, and drops from various types of UAVs," the serviceman said.
He added that the occupation army is trying to take advantage of the fog to bring infantry closer to Ukrainian positions, with little or no armored vehicles.
According to the military, the enemy mainly uses the tactics of small groups of up to three people who try to get as close as possible to Ukrainian positions, accumulate there and strike from both sides. Assaults with the use of equipment are rare. When armored vehicles are used, a tank leads the column, followed by an infantry fighting vehicle with troops.
Russian troops are shelling Ukrainian positions with mortars, drones and aircraft. According to Artlemeichuk, about 30 attacks are recorded per day, mostly with mortars, artillery and multiple launch rocket systems. As for aviation, its activity is changing: recently it has increased, in particular, there were numerous attacks with guided aerial bombs.
On the front line, the enemy is using Mavic drones for reconnaissance and ammunition drops, in particular the Mavic 3 and Mavic 3T models. UAVs such as Krylo, Eagles, ZALA and SuperCam are also used for reconnaissance. In addition, there have been cases of Russians using fiber-optic drones. At the same time, Artemeychuk noted, their use in forested areas is difficult.
