New films by Ari Aster, Wes Anderson and Richard Linklater will be screened in Cannes. The program also includes films by Sergei Loznitsa and Scarlett Johansson's debut.

A total of 18 films were included in the main competition of the 78th International Cannes Film Festival. This was reported by the organizers of the festival, UNN reports.

Among the films to be presented in Cannes are films by directors Ari Aster, Wes Anderson and Richard Linklater. These are the films "The Phoenician Scheme", "New Wave" and "Eddington". The first film tells about the problems of family values, the second film tells about the creation of Jean-Luc Godard's film "Breathless", and the third film takes place around the feud between the mayor and the prosecutor against the background of the pandemic.
Also, several other films will compete for awards in the main competition of the review. Among them are "Two Prosecutors" by Sergei Loznitsa, "The Sound of Falling" by Masha Shilinska, "Eagles of the Republic" by Tarik Saleh, etc. Within the framework of the "Cannes Premiere" program, films by Kirill Serebrennikov, Michael Angelo Covino and Fatih Akin will be presented.
This year, Scarlett Johansson's directorial debut was included in the "Special Look" program - we are talking about the film "Eleanor the Great".
