Netflix will present an "expanded look" at Grand Theft Auto VI

Netflix has announced a presentation of Grand Theft Auto VI from Rockstar Games, which will take place on August 27 at 22:00 Kyiv time. The game will be released on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with the base version costing from $79.99.

The premiere will take place on Thursday, August 27, at 3:00 p.m. ET (10:00 p.m. Kyiv time), Netflix announced on Thursday.
"Grand Theft Auto presentations have become cultural moments in their own right. The anticipation and fan fervor surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI are unprecedented, and we are honored that Rockstar Games is partnering with us to present the next chapter of the Grand Theft Auto story first to Netflix members," said Brandon Rigg, Netflix's vice president of documentary series.
"This reflects what we hope Netflix is becoming: a place where the most ambitious stories, in any format, can find the widest possible audience," he said.
It has been 13 years since GTA V, and fans are more than ready. Although they would like to get a physical copy if possible, the publication notes.
Grand Theft Auto VI, likely the most anticipated video game of all time, will be available only as a digital download. In addition to the fully digital delivery option, Rockstar advertised a forthcoming "physical version" of GTA VI, "but that was merely a convenient use of wording," the publication writes. The "physical version" of Grand Theft Auto VI will simply be a download code packaged in a physical video game case. It is a kind of loophole for attracting collectors — and satisfying antitrust concerns — but not what those words mean to everyone else, the publication writes.
"Jason and Lucia have always known that the deck was stacked against them," reads the official GTA VI synopsis.
"But when a quick score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the entire state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive," the description says.
GTA VI is expected to be released on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at a price starting at $79.99. This applies to the base single-player game. Grand Theft Auto V was $10 cheaper. Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition "enhances the experience" of the base game with an "exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, clothing, and action spanning all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story," according to Rockstar. This version will cost $99.99.
