Since the beginning of 2024, more than 10,000 fires in natural ecosystems and open areas have been recorded in Ukraine, damaging almost 6,500 hectares of land, and 1,248 offenders have been prosecuted for illegal dry grass burning.

"More than 10 thousand fires in natural ecosystems and open areas. This is the number of fires recorded in Ukraine since the beginning of this year. The fire has damaged almost 6.5 hectares of Ukrainian land," the SES reported on social media.
As noted, over 1.2 thousand rescuers and 274 units of SES equipment were involved in extinguishing dead wood fires last night alone.
The SES reminded that burning dry grass is strictly prohibited by law.
They pointed out that 1248 violators have already been brought to justice in 2024.
