Money for housing and assistance for children: new support conditions for IDPs

The Government of Ukraine continues to implement support programs for internally displaced Ukrainians who evacuated from border communities and lost their homes as a result of Russian attacks. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, according to UNN.

Details

According to her, a number of state support programs are currently in effect for IDPs:

  • Monthly living allowance

Every month, about 1 million IDPs receive a living allowance. Since the beginning of the year, the state has funded 10.6 billion UAH in living assistance for IDPs.

The government has also expanded the list of recipient categories so that children among IDPs can receive assistance regardless of the family's income level. The deadline for submitting applications through branches or the Pension Fund website has been extended until June 1, 2026

    - Svyrydenko noted.
    • Nursing care service for the elderly

After evacuation, elderly IDPs can be sent directly from a transit center to medical facilities for recovery. For 60 days, they receive qualified medical care, psychological support, and accompaniment from a social worker who selects options for further residence.

      • Housing for IDPs

Within the framework of the "eOselia" program, the state compensates 70% of the down payment for a mortgage for IDPs and residents of frontline territories, as well as 70% of loan payments in the first year. In addition, an extra payment of 40,000 UAH is provided to cover all fees associated with processing the mortgage. Currently, over 2,500 applications are being processed.

"Additionally, the Government has allocated 1 billion in subvention for the expansion and refurbishment of temporary accommodation centers, taking into account the accessibility of the space," the head of the government specified.

        Reminder

Evacuation points and transit centers for internally displaced persons will receive compensation for utility services.
