The Moldovan Foreign Ministry has declared an employee of the russian embassy persona non grata for activities incompatible with his diplomatic status. This decision is related to the investigation of a case of treason and espionage in favor of russia.

The Moldovan Foreign Ministry summoned russian ambassador to Chisinau oleg vasnetsov for consultations. The publication notes that the diplomat was spotted on August 1 entering the Foreign Ministry building. Later, the ministry confirmed that it had summoned Vasnetsov to inform him that one of the employees of the russian embassy had been declared persona non grata in Moldova.
The decision to expel him was made as a result of measures taken to collect information and evidence that the russian diplomat was engaged in activities incompatible with his diplomatic status in Moldova
