Voting has begun for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024, where 12-year-old Artem Kotenko will represent Ukraine with the song “Hear Me Now.” The final of the contest will be held in Madrid with the participation of 17 countries.

The first stage of voting at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 started on November 15 at 21:00. You can also vote for a representative of your country. This was reported by Eurovision Ukraine on Telegram, UNN reports.

The 22nd Junior Eurovision Song Contest is taking place for the first time in history in Madrid at the Caja Mágica arena. Ukraine will be represented by 12-year-old Artem Kotenko from Okhtyrka, Sumy region. Artem will perform at number 14 with the song Hear Me Now ("Home").

The song was written by Junior Eurovision music producer Svitlana Tarabarova. The song is dedicated to the theme of home as a place of strength and warm feelings, which gives a sense of comfort and security, especially for Ukrainians who have lost or left their homes due to the war.

Representatives from 17 countries will compete in the final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The winner will be determined by the results of the voting of the audience (50%) and the jury of 17 participating countries (50%).

This year, applications for participation in Ukraine's national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 were accepted under simplified rules, which allowed artists to submit covers and video presentations without the need for an original song.
