It may come as a surprise: an expert has given a forecast for fuel prices in December

Director of A-95 Sergiy Kuyun predicts a decline in fuel prices in December due to seasonal factors and pre-holiday promotions. The expert spoke about the NBU's forecast of fuel price increases in 2024-2025.
In December, fuel prices may even pleasantly surprise in terms of decline, not increase, said fuel market expert, director of the consulting company "A-95" Serhiy Kuyun on the air of KYIV24, writes UNN.

"December is the last month of active consumption before winter, January and February are usually, as they say, dead months, and December is even more lively, so prices there are always falling because of a lot of different promotions, a lot of trying to sell before the holidays and so on... So, I think there will be some pleasant surprises in terms of prices going down, not up," said Kuyun.
The NBU had previously indicated that fuel prices had slowed significantly to 6.0% yoy in September (from 25.5% yoy in June), and did not rule out that fuel price growth in Ukraine could accelerate to over 9% by the end of 2024 and remain high for almost the entirety of 2025.
"I don't see why fuel should rise by UAH 5 per liter today. Either oil should cost $90 per barrel, not $75 as it is today, or something else should happen. Maybe the National Bank knows that our currency will go up by 10%, then yes, I agree. But where such conclusions come from, well, to be honest, sometimes I am just surprised," the expert said.
According to the expert, "usually it's the other way around."
