Israel supports hostage deal proposed by the US
Kyiv • UNN
Israeli authorities have agreed to the US proposal to release Hamas hostages. Now, the final decision must be made by Hamas, after which the parties to the conflict must reach an agreement on the implementation of the agreement.
The Israeli authorities supported the agreement with the Hamas group on the release of hostages proposed by the United States. At the same time, the militant leaders must take the same step. This was reported to journalists in Tel Aviv by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during his three-day visit to Israel, The Jerusalem Post reports, according to UNN.

It is noted that today, August 19, Blinken met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“He (Netanyahu - ed.) confirmed to me that Israel accepts the offer (for the hostages - ed.) and that he supports it,” the US Secretary of State said.
According to Blinken, the final decision is now up to Hamas. If this happens, the parties to the conflict, with the participation of mediators - the United States, Egypt and Qatar - must reach an agreement on how they will fulfill their responsibilities under the agreement.
