In its macroeconomic and monetary review for April, the NBU noted that inflation in Ukraine slowed further in February: headline inflation to 4.3% yoy, core inflation to 4.5% yoy.
The regulator explained this by a greater supply of certain food products, including due to warmer weather and secondary effects from last year's significant harvests, as well as a reduction in pressure from business costs for raw materials and energy. "Along with the continued controlled situation in the foreign exchange market, these factors also eased underlying inflationary pressures," the NBU said.
"The NBU estimates that the slowdown continued in March," the report says.
