In Ukraine, since the beginning of the year, over 5.7 million sq. m of road surface damage on international and state highways have been eliminated, which is the highest indicator in the last six years. This was reported by First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, UNN writes.

According to her, the works are being carried out throughout the country, and the repair rates have significantly increased.

Work rates and deadlines

Every day, more than 200 crews and about 2,000 workers are working on the roads. Current repairs on international highways are planned to be completed by May 1, and on roads of national significance – by June 1.

Separately, road repairs have begun in frontline regions within 40 km from the line of combat contact. The works are being carried out by units of the State Special Transport Service taking into account the security situation.

The government emphasizes that the condition of roads is critically important for logistics, the economy, and the country's defense capability.
