In the occupied Crimea, 9,006 human rights violations were recorded in 2017-2023

From 2017 to 2023, 9,006 human rights violations were recorded in the occupied Crimea, including 6,365 against Crimean Tatars. The total number of political prisoners and persecuted persons reached 305, including 205 Crimean Tatars.

rf continues to repress Crimean Tatars and pro-Ukrainian activists in the temporarily occupied Crimea. From 2017 to 2023, 9006 human rights violations, including almost 6.4 thousand against members of the of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. This was reported by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, UNN reports .

After the occupation of Crimea by Russia in 2014, thousands of activists were repressed for their civic position. According to the Center, the number of political prisoners and those prosecuted in criminal cases has reached 305 over the entire period of occupation of Crimea. Of these, 205 are Crimean Tatars,

For 2017-2023, 458 searches, 1504 detentions, and 1460 interrogations were recorded on the peninsula. detentions, 1460 interrogations, 1446 arrests, 3180 violations of the right to a to a fair trial, 584 violations of the right to health, and 374 transfers. In total, these are 9006 violations of fundamental human rights, 6365 of which were committed against of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center also emphasized that with each year of occupation, the situation in Crimea is deteriorating with every year of occupation and noted that human rights violations and systemic repressions are spreading to all the territories occupied by Russia.
