Ukraine marks the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Stalinism and Nazism on August 23. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the international community to condemn the totalitarian regimes of Stalin and Hitler and honor the memory of millions of victims.

Ukraine, along with other European countries, commemorates the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Stalinism and Nazism and calls on the international community to equally condemn the totalitarian regimes of Stalin and Hitler and honor the memory of millions of victims. This was announced by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, UNN reports.

"Today, on August 23, Ukraine, along with other European countries, commemorates the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Stalinism and Nazism.

On this day in 1939, two allies - Hitler's Third Reich and Stalin's USSR - signed the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, paving the way for World War II. Putin's Russia is making every effort to hide this inconvenient fact, which undermines its propaganda and historical myths," Kuleba said.

He emphasized that the truth is that the twin totalitarian regimes of Hitler's Reich and Stalin's USSR committed unspeakable atrocities in the twentieth century.

"The only difference is that the Third Reich was defeated and its crimes were condemned, while Soviet crimes were never properly investigated.

This is evident in Russia, where the cult of Stalinism goes hand in hand with modern fascist ideology and aggression against Ukraine. Unlearned lessons of the past bring back evil," the Minister emphasized.

"On this day, we call on the international community to equally condemn the totalitarian regimes of Stalin and Hitler and honor the memory of millions of victims," Kuleba summarized.
