The head of the Association of Energy Auditors of Ukraine advises residents of apartment buildings to participate in programs for the purchase of alternative energy sources. This will help to meet the needs for heat and water supply during possible outages.

Whatever the forecasts of possible power outages, residents of apartment buildings, in which most systems depend on electricity supply, need to participate in the purchase of alternative energy sources, in particular electric generators, and join programs of partial compensation of these costs, which operate in many cities of Ukraine. This was stated by Vadym Lytvyn, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Energy Auditors of Ukraine, in a commentary to UNN.

According to the expert, the existence of programs is important, and participation of apartment building residents in them will allow them to meet their heat and water supply needs. And, most importantly, to compensate for the costs of purchasing this equipment.

"In fact, this is very important, especially for buildings with many engineering systems that run on electricity. That is, if there are circulation pumps for heating, booster pumps for water supply, it is, in fact, a necessity. After all, if there are long power outages, the building will lose not only electricity and lighting, which, in principle, can be backed up in some way at the apartment level with batteries, but also water supply, sewerage and heating will not work, for example. That is why it is important for buildings with such systems," said Vadym Lytvyn.

Recall

UNN has already written about the advantages and disadvantages of various different autonomous energy supply systems, their cost and the amount of compensation from city budgets for their purchase under the relevant programs that successfully operate not only in regional centers but also in small towns.

In particular, in Brovary, almost two million hryvnias have been allocated for this purpose since the end of 2022.

"The relevant program has been operating in our city since the end of 2022, and about thirty Brovary condominiums and housing cooperatives have already joined it, some of them repeatedly. The city has allocated almost two million hryvnias for compensation. In order to receive compensation for the installed generator, the management of a condominium or housing cooperative must apply to the city's Department of Housing, Infrastructure and Transport. The application is reviewed by a commission, which determines the amount of compensation and makes a decision at a meeting of the executive committee," Brovary Mayor Ihor Sapozhko told.
