A 23-year-old resident of Kyiv region launched fireworks while intoxicated. He faces up to 5 years in prison for violating the ban on the use of pyrotechnics during martial law.
A 23-year-old man who set off fireworks in Akademgorodok was detained in Kyiv. He faces up to 5 years in prison, UNN reports with reference to the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office.
"...a 23-year-old resident of Kyiv region was served a notice of suspicion of hooliganism, i.e. gross violation of public order on the grounds of clear disrespect for society, accompanied by particular audacity (Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the statement said.
According to police, the young man was detained.

It was established that on November 12, 2024, at about 19:30, a young man in the territory of unfinished construction on Akademika Yefremova Street, while being intoxicated, launched fireworks. According to the suspect, he found the package of pyrotechnics in garbage cans.
By his actions, the man not only violated the ban on the use of pyrotechnics during martial law, but also frightened residents of neighboring houses.
The sanction of the article provides for up to 5 years of imprisonment.
